I noticed that the two real course renditions of Canadian courses are of ones in Quebec. How about one from Alberta like Redwood Meadows? Used to be a member there. A very senic course. Check out their website.

Desert Rat Icon : (03 June 2010 - 03:32 PM) CPG1 had a pure 1st person view that was excellent, you swung the club looking down at the ball as IRL and then could walk to your next shot or hit a key to auto-advance to it. Would luv to see this mode added to CPG2010.
SLouis Icon : (02 June 2010 - 12:07 AM) After a shot, there should be the option for the player to use the first person view (CTRL F2) to "walk" to their ball. I find that with the present set up I hardly ever use it.

Game Freeze in "Play" Mode

I am working on a course design. Currently, the first four holes play fine, but on my approach to the 5th hole, the game freezes every time on my downswing. Any ideas? I have no objects placed yet--just tees, greens, pins, rough, and some water. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Unlikely I can help you but any request like this needs a few things to assist the person or developer to help you solve this.

The first is you system specs.

The second is to be more descriptive, ie does the game freeze then carry on or totally lock up and hang completely... etc? Have you tried anything yourself yet like removing the water... and did that fix it?

The third is that as soon as you get an error like this you should zip up the Game logfuile and post it on the site with your post so that Dean can take it and see if anything is revealed in there.


One other very important thing is that this site is due to close in about 7 days time. I see you have registered at the new site and that is where all questions should be asked in the future.

This same issue is happening on the new course released by Jim Dickson too (Valley of Tranquility.) It happens online and offline, can get it on hole 2 online everytime we try to play online...also happens on hole 5 reproduced many times. I think something in the new update has caused this as the golfer never "got stuck" as soon as oyu started your swing ever before. Just as a reference he is talking about just as you start your swing and go into the animation the game "gets stuck" or locks up, you cannot use the esc key or anything and i can only exit the game by ctrl, alt, del....or minimizing the game and closing the window. Hope it is fixed soon ;) Maybe its soemthing with the new camera view online update or something.

Good to see you.

I answered this question as I was downloading the course and update and it could be related to the update I think.

I setup my own error thread on the new site here... http://www.24-hrgami...3666-d3d-error/

One of my crashes ended the logfile as it appeared to be drawing or referencing the 'mesh'. One of the updates was a 'fix' to the mesh so it might be related.

I also got a D3D error which I haven't seen in forever plus my 1st ever runtime error crash...

I've notified Dean.
