Joe Habiger Icon : (10 March 2010 - 01:34 PM) We (meaning me Rat and Nike) always used the LW for chipping and raised the stance to high just because the ball goes so darn far on a chip, pretty much BECAUSE you are using the same sensitive full swing. You barely pull it back and it's already long gone. Man I used to shoot around -1 to -5, how the heck did I do that? It just seems so rediculasly tough for me right now..lol
BrianZ111 Icon : (10 March 2010 - 01:15 PM) I hate the chipping game the way it is now. Chipping with a PW is like chipping with a 3 iron. Very low and rolls on forever. I use the full swing and crank the stance up to high with the PW. You have to be very careful not to hit it too hard but at least the ball stops a few feet past where you land it.
Joe Habiger Icon : (10 March 2010 - 07:31 AM) I feel the same way for the chipping game (should be pitching as well) in how sensitive it is, now being a new player again I know what they go through and shooting +20 is not my kind of fun because chipping the ball 20 feet goes 80 feet. It is way to sensitive and PW should NOT be default.. The reason I left was they sort of just stopped listening to us, we know whats best for the game since were the golfers here and have been playing golf for a decade on the computer.
Joe Habiger Icon : (10 March 2010 - 07:01 AM) Yes I remember that, I can't remember what I had it set to before but I bet about 5 now with how sensitive it is. I still feel and always have said that the putter should have it's own swing because even back then I barely moved the mouse, you should have to slide it quite a bit to get the feel of real motion in the backswing and follow through.

Joe Habiger Icon : (10 March 2010 - 12:59 AM) Yeh but truthfully, everything looks the same and I don't see no improvements. It's been awhile and my game sucks now. I don't know if it is me but putting is just horrid, the sensitivity of the mouse is way over the top, can't keep from pushing or pulling the putt. Did they do something to change this? If so why, it's not like the game was easy before. I still highly doubt things will change much. Putter should have it's own swing and not some 1/8 inch movement for a 20 yard putt.

HOW THE HECK did I do that because I have not downloaded anything yet. I checked to see if a link worked but never downloaded it. I wanted to get my own Augusta earlier as I never saved it but I guess I will have to PAY this site to let me download my own darn course.

Blade Icon : (09 March 2010 - 03:21 PM) I've been getting 15k download speeds through the Portal for months now on XP and Win 7, (probably since they moved to a new server). The last update came and my speed went up to 300k. When they removed the update the speed went back to 15k again. I find it hard to believe that a lighting update affects the server speed.

Have changed the skin on the site a bit to work better with IE browser and the Downloads area of the site.

From the portal.....

CustomPlay Golf 2010 has been updated with the following...

New Skies! The sky has been replaced with high resolution sky panoramas that match the selection of time and weather.

Field of View You can now modify the default camera field-of-view (FOV). Go to the "Game" options and adjust the slider.
Please note: this controls the vertical field of view of the camera. In the screenshot above the FOV has been increased to 70 degrees.

We have updated several areas of the site today. The biggest updates are to the Gallery and Downloads areas to the newest versions available. We have also updated the forum area to the latest version.
